I've just torn my sock while tugging it out of my boot. Shopping at lunch time it is then...

Doctor Who

Hey

Just watched the last Tennant Dr Who...

I kinda enjoyed most of it. I am worried about the new doctor.

I like the relationship between the Doctor and the Master, it totally reminds me of Unwin and Redfearn.

Not sure everyone will like it...

2010 is going to rock. I forsee it.

(Possibly it's wishful thinking, but let's pretend anyway!)
Some good things were good.
Some bad things were bad.
There was some stuff I was pretty indifferent to.
Some people died and I went to some places (not always in a cause and effect kind of relationship)
There were 10 New Year parties at the same place, some of which kicked arse more than others but all of which were at least 'very nice'.
I did some roleplaying; much of it was 'live'.

*yawn*

What else?
On average I went to the zoo more times this decade than any other in my life.
I don't have any resolutions, New Year-related or otherwise.
My biggest regret of the decade should be hitting [info]lucifermourning on the head with my car boot, but it isn’t because it remains a source of mild amusement for some people and didn’t seem to cause any major trauma to the victim. It is probably therefore not seeing Bruce Springsteen more times. You may sense that I’m not big on regret really.

Any other stuff I’m supposed to cover in this thing?
Made lots of new friends, mostly through the Cam but a few through the HoP type group I guess. That’s probably the highlight of the decade: that I’ve cemented a lot of relationships that (I hope) will last for a long time to come, rather than just being ‘school friends’ or ‘university friends’ or whatever.

OK; last bit; ten (fairly arbitary) things I wouldn’t have expected to do, but did:
Saw Nine Inch Nails live;
Visited Middlesbrough more than once;
Travelled 150 miles or so to a game and walked out before time-in;
Dressed as a carrot with a bowtie;
Bought a flashy/mid-life crisis/sporty car;
Made ‘my’ home into ‘our’ home;
Helped to make sausage and mash for 25 people;
Been forcibly massaged by a burly Sri Lankan;
Run a monthly LARP for two years;
Had an email read out on Test match Special.

Go me. Next!
The Brian Jonestown Massacre, made (in)famous by the documentary Dig!, are playing London in May. I thought I'd share that with the ... probably one ... person who knows what I'm talking about.

Christmas time

  • Dec. 26th, 2009 at 6:54 PM
Hey

When Christmas time comes around I always find my mind wandering to Rob and Tiffany Paul, we used to go up there at Christmas and hang out over the holidays.

It was a really good time in my life.

I would love to have times like that again. But this time there would be more people in my "I trust these friends" list.

Back then there weren't as many as there are now.

Dave, Andy and Mick are still my best friends but there are loads of others who have proven to me that they meet the cool rating required to be in my version of the Slug Club.

So to Sarah Bell, Paul Watson, Christina Brown, Louise Ibbeson and LOADS of others. Thank you for being cool and even if you guys didn't realise it helping me through some shitty times in my life.

I really hope all of you had an ace Christmas and wish you all the best for the coming year.

I <3 you all.

Cheers
